Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ATS-friendly resume?

An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software companies use to scan resumes before a recruiter reads them. An ATS-friendly resume uses clean formatting, standard section names, and relevant keywords so the software can parse it correctly. All CVMaster templates are designed to pass ATS scans.

Is CVMaster free to use?

Yes. The free plan includes the manual resume builder, basic templates, live preview, resume scoring, and downloads. The Pro plan adds the AI Resume Wizard, premium templates, cover letter generation, and more AI credits.

What is Dr CV and how does it work?

Dr CV is CVMaster's AI resume doctor. Describe yourself in plain words, upload your old resume or LinkedIn PDF, or share your GitHub/portfolio links — Dr CV reads everything and builds your complete resume: summary, experience bullets, skills, and projects. If anything important is missing, it asks you short questions first.

Can I import my LinkedIn profile?

LinkedIn blocks automated access, so simply copy the About and Experience text from your LinkedIn profile and paste it into the AI Wizard. It will extract everything and keep your LinkedIn URL in the contact section.

What is the resume score?

CVMaster analyzes your resume in real time and scores it from 0 to 100 based on contact details, summary length, action verbs, quantified achievements, keywords, and completeness — with specific suggestions to improve.

How do I download my resume?

Click Download PDF in the editor for a print-ready A4 PDF, or export a plain-text version for online application forms. Your resumes are saved automatically to your account.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your resumes are stored securely and are only accessible from your account. We never sell your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
